The Hayward SwimClear is a high-efficiency cartridge filter available in four sizes, from 150 to 525 sq ft of filtration area. The 150 sq ft model uses a single cartridge element; the 325, 425, and 525 sq ft models use a quad-cluster of four elements for greater dirt-holding capacity and longer cycles between cleanings. None of the SwimClear models require backwashing.
To size a filter for your pool, the standard rule is to turn over the full pool volume at least once every 8 hours. The table below shows the turnover capacity for each model so you can match the right filter to your pool size.

Turnover figures are based on Hayward's published design flow rates. For pools near the upper end of a model's capacity, or in warmer climates where more frequent turnover is recommended, sizing up to the next model is worth considering. Questions about sizing?
