First things first…the COP of the GulfStream HE110 is pretty unbeatable.
The term “COP” is short for “Coefficient of Performance”, and it’s the industry standard to measure heat pump efficiency. The highest possible COP is 7.0, which means that for every electricity unit used, 7 units of energy are produced.
The GulfStream HE 110 RA heat pump has a COP of 6.8. Basically, for every $1 of electricity spent to run the heat pump, it can produce a heating output equivalent to $6.80.
A heat pump with a higher COP is more efficient. The HE 110 boasts a 680% efficiency rating. In comparison, gas heaters are 85 - 95% efficient…womp womp.

The titanium turbo heat exchanger is the driving force behind the impressive efficiency of the GulfStream 110 RA. The molecular structure of titanium is dense, and so titanium is pretty lightweight and really strong. This promotes rapid heating, so you won’t have to wait long for your pool water to warm. Titanium is also corrosion-resistant, which makes it an ideal choice for pool owners living on the coast or in rainy regions.
GulfStream units come with a hefty 20 square foot evaporator coil, which efficiently transfers heat between the refrigerant and the air to keep your pool water toasty. Along with the coil, the patented Refrigerant Metering System allows you to dial in your temperature control.
In addition, peak operation noise isn’t a concern: at a maximum of 56 decibels, the noise level is comparable to the hum of a refrigerator. This is due to a few key components: the 8 pole fan motor helps quietly and efficiently circulate air through the system, and the scroll air compressor is much quieter than other types of compressors.
The HE 110’s refrigerant, R-410A, is one of the best lubricants on the market. The quality of this refrigerant cuts down on wear and tear inside the compressor, improving operational efficiency while extending the lifespan of the equipment.
