GPC-25 Estimated Temperature Drop by City

Estimated drop after an 8-hour overnight run. The 2-night column is the total net drop from your starting temperature across two consecutive nights, assuming 75% daytime recovery between nights - not an additional drop on top of night one.

City Wet bulb Humidity Up to 10K - 1 night Up to 10K - 2 nights 10-20K - 1 night 10-20K - 2 nights
Las Vegas, NV 60°F 20-25% 8-10.5°F 10-13°F 5-7°F 6.5-9°F

Based on 8-hour overnight runs at 95°F water in. Ranges reflect real-world variance. Results vary with sun exposure, pool cover use, and local conditions. A pool cover reduces daytime heat recovery and pushes 2-night figures higher.

With the GPC-25, you'll maximize results immediately while you minimize costs and maintenance over the long-term.

You can install your Glacier pool cooler yourself or with the help of a technician in one afternoon, turn it on to cool your pool overnight, and enjoy a refreshing swim in the morning. It's that easy - see the installation manual for more details.

And as you continue to use your Glacier Pool Chiller, it saves you money.

  • Colder pool water requires about 25% less pool chemical load to stay clean, so you'll buy less sanitizer.
  • The Glacier GPC-25 uses an electric fan to cool the pool, never freon or gas.
  • Evaporative cooling using an electric fan is more efficient than heat/cool or pool chiller pumps, which run between 20-40 amps; the GPC-25 runs at 2.66 amps.

How the GPC-25 works

Glacier Pool Coolers use evaporative cooling technology, which relies on a pump to circulate pressurized pool water around the pool area as a fine mist. The mist droplets absorb heat energy from the air and pool itself, decreasing the temperature in and around the pool.

The Glacier GPC-25 works to rapidly cool the pool and the poolside lounging area - so you create a total pool oasis.

The pool cooler exceeded my expectations! I live in North Carolina and have a beautiful dark bottom pool in full sun. When we have 90 degree weather the pool heater would hit 90 degrees during July & August and not be usable. I have had the pool cooler for a month now and when we have had back to back 90-degree days the water stays at 78 degrees when I run it 12 hours a day. This is the best purchase I have made in years! Love it!

Glacier GPC-25 FAQs

Installation takes about 4 hours and connects directly to your existing pool plumbing after the filter or heater. You'll add T-fittings, check valves, and ball valves on both the inlet and outlet lines. Full step-by-step diagrams are included in the installation manual for existing pools, new pool builds, and commercial setups.
Yes. The GPC-25 is compatible with all major automation systems including Pentair IntelliCenter/IntelliTouch, Jandy AquaLink, and Hayward OmniHub/OmniLogic. It integrates using a relay and actuator valves, allowing temperature set points to be programmed so the cooler turns on and off automatically. See the installation manual for wiring details specific to your system.
Run it overnight for best results - a minimum of 10-12 hours is recommended. Daytime sun overpowers the chilling process, so nighttime operation is where you'll see the real temperature drop.
Make sure the sprinkler wands are spinning at a slow-to-medium "walking" pace - not too fast, not stopped. Run it overnight (8-12 hours minimum). Pools with dark bottoms, full-sun exposure, or equipment more than 15 ft from the pool may need longer run times. If you have a variable-speed pump, it must be set to high speed while the cooler is running.
Yes, that's normal and by design. Cool water collects in the basin, the internal sump pump kicks on and pushes it back to your pool, and the cycle repeats. Do not try to balance the water level - this causes overflow or pump cavitation.
Slow the sprinkler wands down by partially closing the inlet ball valve. Both the inlet and outlet valves should sit around the 2 o'clock position as a starting point.
Remove each screen (louver), flip it so the holes face downward, bow it slightly outward against the basin lip, and reinsert the pins. This directs water to roll down into the basin rather than spraying out.
First confirm all power is off and the fan motor is not running. Open the hand-hole cover and check that each sprinkler pipe hole is facing horizontally to the right. You may need to open the inlet valve slightly more to increase water pressure. Do not put your hand inside the unit while the fan is on.
Reach in through a side louver and manually move the float switch upward - if the pump vibrates, it has power and the float was stuck. If there's no vibration, check wiring. If the water level still won't drop after the float is freed, debris may be blocking the impeller at the pump base.
Close the inlet and outlet ball valves, and leave the main drain (bottom-left ball valve) open so the basin drains fully and stays dry. Standing water over the off-season can burn out the pump. Consider a cover or tarp if the unit sits under trees.
Yes, but extra care is needed. Salt is corrosive and roughly five times harder on equipment than regular chlorine. Regularly hose down the fan motor shaft, housing, and sprinkler head assembly with fresh water to prevent salt buildup and freezing. Note that fan motors and pumps are not covered under warranty for salt-related damage.
Keep pH between 7.2-7.8, Total Alkalinity between 80-120 ppm, and Total Dissolved Solids under 2,000. Failing to maintain chemistry can cause corrosion or scaling inside the cooler and will void the warranty.
About the same noise level as your pool pump.
The GPC-25 runs at just 2.66 amps - by far the most energy-efficient of the three Glacier residential models, and far less than heat pump chillers which typically draw 20-40 amps.
The GPC-25 is sized for pools up to 20,000 gallons. If your pool has a dark bottom, sits in direct sun, or you want faster cooling in a shorter overnight window, consider sizing up to the GPC-210. For pools over 30,000 gallons, see the GPC-215.
About half our customers DIY their installation. Please refer to the appropriate diagram in the installation manual to guide you. Note that improper installation voids your warranty.

A Note from the Owner

I'm Lindsay, the founder of Nonstop Swim. I've spent thousands of hours researching products, working with our vendors, and talking to customers. Here are my thoughts on the Glacier GPC-25:

This is one of our bestselling pool chillers for folks who don't want an energy-hungry, refrigerant-based behemoth for their pool. We sell a ton of these to customers all along the Gulf Coast, so we know it handles humidity very well. It also works great in desert heat - think temperatures of 105°F or more. We've had customers tell us their pool has dropped from the low 100s to the mid 80s in a matter of days.

This model is sized for pools up to 20,000 gallons. If your pool is in direct sun or has a dark bottom, consider sizing up to the GPC-210. For pools over 30,000 gallons, see the GPC-215.

Note that setup can be a bit tricky - it's all about getting the flow calibrated so the sprinklers turn at the right speed and mist the water via evaporative cooling. We can help with that if you run into issues!
