How Will Tariffs Affect Pool Products?

How Will Tariffs Affect Pool Products?

A Note From Our Founder: Tariffs, Pool Products, and What To Consider

Welcome to summer 2025! April showers bring May flowers, and the official start of pool opening season across much of the USA.

At Nonstop Swim, we're looking forward to expanding our product catalogue over the coming weeks as we work to bring you a selection of high quality goods from USA manufacturers and distributors.

We've received plenty of questions from our customers about the potential impacts of tariffs on our product catalogue. Below, I answer some of these FAQs and provide some advice on how to plan for summer pool season this year.

Q: What do tariffs mean for the pool industry?

A: In short, tariffs are an import fee imposed by the US government on certain imported goods. This fee is paid by businesses sourcing the goods. A 10% tariff on a product that costs a manufacturer $200 will result in a final charge of $220. This means that businesses making pool products are facing imminently higher costs.

Q: Nonstop Swim is known for selling products from USA-based manufacturers and distributors, so this doesn't matter, right?

A: At Nonstop Swim, we are so proud to partner with businesses that are USA-based- we believe that products designed and manufactured here are not only of the highest quality, but also come with superior installation and maintenance support for the lifespan of the product.

The fact is that our supply chain is globalized in 2025, and even products designed and assembled in the USA contain pieces and parts from overseas manufacturers. Even a single tariffed component from an overseas manufacturer can add up across batch orders of thousands of units. Businesses have to balance the books, and will generally end up increasing prices to accommodate this increase, or imminent increase, on supplies.

Q: What does this mean for pool owners?

A: As a pool owner, you can expect to see prices on pool products increase anywhere from 5-30% in the next few months. We are already seeing some of our brand partners increase prices. For others, we're seeing delays starting as businesses scramble to find better pricing for parts.

In May 2025, you still have some time to get ahead of tariffs. The best time to order was yesterday; the second best time is today.

We are doing everything we can to process orders rapidly and keep customers updated about imminent price changes, shortages, and backorders. Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns. We're here to help you find a solution that will work for your needs, timeline, and budget.

Thanks for supporting our small business!
