How does a Glacier Pool Cooler work?
Glacier Pool Coolers use evaporative pool cooling technology to cool your pool by up to 15°F in about 12 hours.
The pool cooler has an internal pump which pressurizes water into a fine mist, which is then circulated over the surface of the pool by an electric fan. These tiny water droplets absorb heat energy from the pool and the surrounding air as they evaporate.
Will evaporative cooling work in humid climates?
A: While evaporative cooling happens faster in lower humidity, Glacier Pool Coolers has performed all of their unit testing around the humid Gulf Coast- specifically, Houston, TX- so they're confident their pool chillers will work for you. It's hard to get more humid than Houston!
How can I maximize the efficiency of my pool cooler?
A: Air movement is essential for the pool cooler to work well! Moving air helps push mist droplets around the surface of the pool and pool area, and it speeds up the evaporative process, too. If you don't have much air movement around your pool on a given day, you can set up a simple electric fan nearby to help push air around your pool.
